Etisalat is a telecommunications service carrier with operations in eighteen countries, located mostly in the Middle East, Asia and Africa. Etisalat’s headquarters are in Abu Dhabi, UAE (United Arab Emirates) with offices in Dubai. As of 2009, Etisalat was ranked as the world’s thirteenth largest wireless service provider, with more than 100 million people as customers. It is also ranked as the 6th largest corporation in terms of market capitalization and revenues in the Middle East.
Etisalat is also a regional Internet hub for the Middle East. Etisalat’s wireless networks cover Blackberry, 3G, GPRS and voice roaming. It also operates POP Points of Presence (locations where carriers can terminate services and provide connections into a local network), in Paris, London, New York, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, and Singapore.
