NOTE:
These unlocking instructions are to be used once you have received your unlock code from Unlockology.com.

Before entering an unlock code, please make sure the 15 digit IMEI number you gave us is correct. Unlocking Codes are unique to each Blackberry. Follow the instructions on this link to properly read the IMEI on your handset.
CODE ERROR:
Should you get a ?Code Error? message when entering the unlock code, STOP and contact us immediately. By default Blackberry only allows 10 attempts to enter a correct unlock code. If you have less than 3 attempts left, do NOT enter a code without first providing us with your handsets MEP number. Providing an MEP number guarantees a 100% correct unlock code. How to read the MEP.

9. Press the track pad to confirm you entry after entering the code.
10. A message that says CODE ACCEPTED will show up and the Blackberry 9300 screen will return to the personalisation screen.

Research in Motion (RIM) has announced the launch of their new Blackberry Bold 9780 smartphone. A mobile phone with lots of improvements over it’s 9700 and 9000 series counterparts.
The Bold 9780 will not be a slide-out handset like the Blackberry Torch 9800. It will have a traditional configuration with a front facing screen and QWERTY keyboard. One of the best improvements on the 9780 is the new 5 megapixel camera and flash. It will also come with the newest version of the Blackberry operating system (OS 6) installed.
Cell C has revealed plans to launch the new 9780 Bold in South Africa in March. It is supposed to retail in the R4999 to R5299 range. Cell C is South Africa’s third cellular network operator behind Vodacom and MTN.
Vodacom has also confirmed that they will be launching the Blackberry 9780 Bold on their network, but they are yet to provide a date. It is not known if the MTN network will also be carrying the 9780 Bold.
Keep coming back and we will keep you informed at Unlockology.com.

The PRD number on a blackberry (9800, 9700, 9000, 8900, 8520, etc) can help get a 100% correct unlock code according to Unlockology.com. With only 10 attempts to enter a correct unlock code before hard-locking your mobile forever, you do not want to guess. The PRD number format has eight numbers and can look something like this: PRD-27486-021. You can find the PRD number by taking the battery off your blackberry and looking on the UPC label on the phone. The numbers are small so make sure you provide not only a correct PRD number, but a correct 15 digit IMEI number off your phone. Unlock codes can vary by country, service provider and phone model, so it is important that the information you provide is correct.

Here are some more examples of PRD numbers for Blackberry mobile phones:

Research In Motion (RIM) and its Blackberry brand have a lot riding on the launch of the new Blackberry 9800 Torch. With the battle for Smartphone supremacy in full heat, and Apple’s iPhone sales showing no signs of a slow down, Blackberry has its work cut out for it. Google and it’s Android operating software is also a hot contender.
The new Blackberry 9800 Torch is a touchscreen slider. In other words, the phone looks like a full screen smartphone, like an iPhone. However, it has a bottom part that slides down and reveals and full QWERT keyboard and an optical trackpad.
The touchscreen on the 9800 Torch is a lot more responsive than its predecessor, the blackberry storm. There are two options for typing. It can be done on the on-screen keyboard or on the slide out keyboard. The slide out keyboard is probably the best blackberry has made to date. The keys are wide enough to provide enough room to type comfortably. Have the combination of a touchscreen and a full sized slide out keyboard is what makes the 9800 Torch stand out from the competition.
The Blackberry 9800 Torch also comes loaded with RIM’s new OS 6.0 operating system. The layout is somewhat different to what Blackberry users are used to, but there are plenty of new additions and it is quite easy to get used to. Similar to an iPhone, you can finger swipe through (more…)

Have you ever heard people around you say: “I unlocked my blackberry” or “My blackberry bold is unlocked,” and wonder, what are they all talking about? I asked the guys at Unlockology.com about this, and here is what I learnt.
When people talk about unlocking, they are often referring to the act of freeing up a mobile phone and making it their own. But why “their own” you might ask? Don’t they already own the handset? Well, the answer to this is that cellular phones, including Blackberry, are for the most part, sold by the network carriers through what is called a subsidization program.
A subsidization or subsidy occurs when a network carrier offers incentives to a buyer to purchase a Blackberry or other Smartphone at an attractive discount. Most of the time, cellular mobile phones are sold below cost by the network service providers. In order to qualify for these discounted prices customers must enter into a contract with the network provider and agree to the terms of that contract. This contract is a means of protecting the service providers’ initial investment. The provider builds-in the discounted portion of the handset into the monthly service fee for the use of voice or data communications on their network. Their intention is to recoup every penny of their investment and more.
As a second measure (more…)

AT&T Inc. is the biggest provider of landline telephone service (telephony) in the United States. The company also provides high-speed Internet services and television services over their broadband network. In the USA, AT&T is also the second largest provider of cellular & mobile phone network services. Verizon Wireless is the leader in the United States when measuring the number of wireless network subscribers.
AT&T began as Southwestern Bell Corporation. The name was changed in 1995 to SBC Communications. Then in 2005, the AT&T name began to be used after the purchase of AT&T Corporation by SBC Communications. AT&T’s history dates back for more than a century. AT&T used to have a monopoly in the United States telephone market until 1984 when after loosing an antitrust suit; the American government broke up the company.
The irony of today’s AT&T is that it very much like (more…)
