unlock codes for t-mobile cellphones like blackberry, htc, samsung

Based in Germany, T-Mobile is the German cellular mobile network carrier, owned by Deutsche Telekom.  T-Mobile operates numerous GSM networks in Europe and the United States. T-Mobile also partially owns other cellular networks around the world. T-Mobile is ranked seventh in the world in terms of subscribers.

In 1989, West Germany’s state owned postal monopoly Deutsche Bundespost, reorganized. The telecommunications unit was consolidated under a new Deutsche Bundespost Telekom. This was renamed Deutsche Telekom in 1995, and the company was privatized in 1996.

The first generation networks were operated under the C-Tel name. In 1992 T-Mobile introduced GSM on the 900 MHz frequency. The old C-Tel network was operated as C-Netz under a subsidiary called DeTeMobil. Eventually, D-Netz (T-D1) and DeTeMobil were rolled in under the T-Mobil name. T-Mobil introduced SMS messaging in 1994 and a pre-paid cellular service in 1997. It was not until 2002 that T-Mobile change the brand from T-Mobil to T-Mobile, which was more acceptable in all the countries it was expanding into.

Recently T-Mobile UK formed a joint venture with (more…)

Blackberry MEP Reader Tool for Unlocking Code

If you have ever tried to unlock a Blackberry, locked on a network carrier with operations in different countries around the world (ie. MoviStar), then you know how important it is to have the handsets MEP number. Having a reliable MEP Reader is the key to successful Blackberry unlocking.

Sometimes you think you are unlocking a Movistar Venezuela Blackberry Bold, when in fact it really is a MoviStar Spain Blackberry Bold. If this is the case, then you are guaranteed to get a wrong unlock code. And if your Blackberry only has a few attempts left to enter a correct unlock code, having the correct MEP can be the difference between successfully unlocking a Blackberry or becoming the proud owner of a brand new hard-locked paperweight. Confusing the network origin is becoming more common, with carriers like Vodafone, Digicel, Claro, MoviStar, Orange, T-Mobile, Three, Lime, TIM, and Zain expanding into new countries.

Nobody likes to end up with the dreaded zero attempts (more…)

Unlock my Blackberry - What does that mean?

Have you ever heard people around you say: “I unlocked my blackberry” or “My blackberry bold is unlocked,” and wonder, what are they all talking about? I asked the guys at Unlockology.com about this, and here is what I learnt.

When people talk about unlocking, they are often referring to the act of freeing up a mobile phone and making it their own. But why “their own” you might ask? Don’t they already own the handset? Well, the answer to this is that cellular phones, including Blackberry, are for the most part, sold by the network carriers through what is called a subsidization program.

A subsidization or subsidy occurs when a network carrier offers incentives to a buyer to purchase a Blackberry or other Smartphone at an attractive discount. Most of the time, cellular mobile phones are sold below cost by the network service providers. In order to qualify for these discounted prices customers must enter into a contract with the network provider and agree to the terms of that contract. This contract is a means of protecting the service providers’ initial investment. The provider builds-in the discounted portion of the handset into the monthly service fee for the use of voice or data communications on their network. Their intention is to recoup every penny of their investment and more.

Wednesday, April 21st, 2010

Rumours abound and word has it that Blackberry OS 6.0 is on schedule to be launched this summer. It looks like this will be a major revision to Blackberry’s operating system.

So what are we supposed to be getting? There are three main components to this release: A re-designed home screen, which will allow for extra pages – a feature similar to that on an iPhone. For devices with a touch screen, there will be support for multi-touch gestures like pinch-to-zoom and a new re-designed image viewer. And probably the most important development (more…)
